The "Big Four of Grunge" are the four bands that are the most prominent and influential grunge bands of the 1980's-1990's Grunge scene. The four bands are generally decided to be Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden. These four bands were most active during the early-mid 1990s, and released several of the most cionic grunge albums in the scene, including Nirvana's Nevermind and In Utero, Pearl Jam's First three studio albums: (Ten, Vs., and Vitalogy), Alice in Chains' Facelift and Dirt, and Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger and Superunknown.
